Theatre Trip last December
Our outing to the New Theatre in Oxford to see the Sound of Music was a great success. One relative was able to have an outing with her mother for the first time in many years.
Fund raising for activities
We did so well at our Christmas bazaar that we were able to fund this trip to the theatre for some residents and their families, and have enough left in our activity fund for our next pottery session. Thank you to everyone who supported us.
Relatives Support Group
Our Support Group is becoming well established. We hold meetings every six weeks and those who attended have found them tremendously helpful. Sharing sad stories of what it is like to have a loved one with dementia can help to ease the burden, and several relatives have found much more enjoyment in their visits to the home as a result.
If your loved one suffers with this dreadful disease, or if you would just like to know that you are not alone in your situation, then this group might be for you.
It's not all doom and gloom - we have an enjoyable time too! Newcomers are always welcome.
Ring Lisa on 01235 530423 for more information or to check the next meeting dates.
